Leading virtual IT solution specialists, Intercept has acquired
ADS Portal in return for share capital. The deal will see the two
companies merging their operations.
The former ADS Portal product suite of “Online” products will
be retained and will feature prominently within the Intercept managed
services portfolio.
Ian Readman, Chief Executive, Intercept, stated: “The
strength of ADS Portal’s business model will add further depth
to Intercept’s operations, adding an incredibly valuable annuity
revenue stream. It also enables us to offer valuable services
in the Small to Medium Business space, which will be a welcome
addition to Intercept’s existing Enterprise customer offerings.
In short, we now have services which cater for all businesses,
no matter how large or small.”
The deal will immediately expand business and technical resources,
and will provide improved skill sharing and knowledge transfer. Intercept
gains an established managed services business with strong annuity
revenues, as well as an expanded help desk. The merged business
will also develop tighter relationships with their tier 1 suppliers
such as Microsoft, Citrix, VMware and HP.
Kevin Bland, Director of Channel Sales UK and Ireland at Citrix
stated “This is a great move enabling Intercept to offer virtualisation
services built on Citrix technology to both large and smaller firms.
By strengthening its managed service operations, Intercept is able
to take advantage of the trend to outsource IT, as well as to support
customer’s in-house IT teams with specialist virtualisation skills
when required for large infrastructure optimisation projects.”
